2021-02-12kernel: Unify result codes (#5890)Chloe
* kernel: Unify result codes Drop the usage of ERR_NAME convention in kernel for ResultName. Removed seperation between svc_results.h & errors.h as we mainly include both most of the time anyways. * oops * rename errors to svc_results

2020-06-27General: Cleanup legacy code.Fernando Sahmkow
2019-12-07kernel: Remove unnecessary includesLioncash
Over the course of the changes to the kernel code, a few includes are no longer necessary, particularly with the change over to std::shared_ptr from Boost's intrusive_ptr.
2019-11-28kernel: Implement a more accurate IPC dispatch.bunnei
2019-11-24kernel: Replace usage of boost::intrusive_ptr with std::shared_ptr for ↵bunnei
kernel objects. (#3154) * kernel: Replace usage of boost::intrusive_ptr with std::shared_ptr for kernel objects. - See https://github.com/citra-emu/citra/pull/4710 for details.
2019-04-06kernel/server_session: Return a std::pair from CreateSessionPair()Lioncash
Keeps the return type consistent with the function name. While we're at it, we can also reduce the amount of boilerplate involved with handling these by using structured bindings.
2019-03-11kernel/server_port: Make data members privateLioncash
With this, all kernel objects finally have all of their data members behind an interface, making it nicer to reason about interactions with other code (as external code no longer has the freedom to totally alter internals and potentially messing up invariants).
2018-10-06Added forward define for ServerPortDavid Marcec
2018-08-28kernel: Eliminate kernel global stateLioncash
As means to pave the way for getting rid of global state within core, This eliminates kernel global state by removing all globals. Instead this introduces a KernelCore class which acts as a kernel instance. This instance lives in the System class, which keeps its lifetime contained to the lifetime of the System class. This also forces the kernel types to actually interact with the main kernel instance itself instead of having transient kernel state placed all over several translation units, keeping everything together. It also has a nice consequence of making dependencies much more explicit. This also makes our initialization a tad bit more correct. Previously we were creating a kernel process before the actual kernel was initialized, which doesn't really make much sense. The KernelCore class itself follows the PImpl idiom, which allows keeping all the implementation details sealed away from everything else, which forces the use of the exposed API and allows us to avoid any unnecessary inclusions within the main kernel header.
2018-08-06client_port: Make all data members privateLioncash
These members don't need to be entirely exposed, we can instead expose an API to operate on them without directly needing to mutate them We can also guard against overflow/API misuse this way as well, given active_sessions is an unsigned value.
2018-08-01kernel: Move object class to its own source filesLioncash
General moving to keep kernel object types separate from the direct kernel code. Also essentially a preliminary cleanup before eliminating global kernel state in the kernel code.
2018-07-31kernel: Remove unnecessary includesLioncash
Removes unnecessary direct dependencies in some headers and also gets rid of indirect dependencies that were being relied on to be included.
2018-01-20Format: Run the new clang format on everythingJames Rowe
2017-06-06Kernel: Add a dedicated SetHleHandler method to ServerPort/ServerSessionYuri Kunde Schlesner
This allows attaching a HLE handle to a ServerPort at any point after it is created, allowing port/session creation to be generic between HLE and regular services.
2017-06-05HLE: Move SessionRequestHandler from Service:: to Kernel::Yuri Kunde Schlesner
Most of the code that works with this is or will be in the kernel, so it's a more appropriate place for it to be.
2017-05-24Kernel: Centralize error definitions in errors.hYuri Kunde Schlesner
2017-05-15Kernel: Use a Session object to keep track of the status of a Client/Server ↵Subv
session pair. Reduce the associated port's connection count when a ServerSession is destroyed.
2016-12-14Fixed the codestyle to match our clang-format rules.Subv
2016-12-08Added a framework for partially handling Session disconnections.Subv
Further implementation will happen in a future commit. Fixes a regression.
2016-12-08Use std::move where appropriate.Subv
2016-12-05Return an error code when connecting to a saturated port.Subv
The error code was taken from the 3DS kernel.
2016-12-05Split SessionRequestHandler::HandleSyncRequest into HandleSyncRequest, ↵Subv
TranslateRequest and HandleSyncRequestImpl. HandleSyncRequest now takes care of calling the command buffer translate function before actually invoking the command handler for HLE services.
2016-12-05KServerPorts now have an HLE handler "template", which is inherited by all ↵Subv
ServerSessions created from it.
2016-11-30Fixed the rebase mistakes.Subv
2016-11-30A bit of a redesign.Subv
Sessions and Ports are now detached from each other. HLE services are handled by means of a SessionRequestHandler class, Interface now inherits from this class. The File and Directory classes are no longer kernel objects, but SessionRequestHandlers instead, bound to a ServerSession when requested. File::OpenLinkFile now creates a new session pair and binds the File instance to it.
2016-11-30IPC/HLE: Associate the ClientSessions with their parent port's HLE interface ↵Subv
if it exists. Pass the triggering ServerSession to the HLE command handler to differentiate which session caused the request.
2016-11-30Kernel/HLE: Service::Interface no longer inherits from any Kernel object, ↵Subv
and is now its own standalone class. Interface is now used by aggregation in ClientPort, to forward service commands to their HLE implementation if needed.
2016-11-30 Kernel/IPC: Use Ports and Sessions as the fundamental building block of ↵Subv
Inter Process Communication. All handles obtained via srv::GetServiceHandle or svcConnectToPort are references to ClientSessions. Service modules will wait on the counterpart of those ClientSessions (Called ServerSessions) using svcReplyAndReceive or svcWaitSynchronization[1|N], and will be awoken when a SyncRequest is performed. HLE Interfaces are now ClientPorts which override the HandleSyncRequest virtual member function to perform command handling immediately.
2016-09-21Use negative priorities to avoid special-casing the self-includeYuri Kunde Schlesner
2016-09-21Remove empty newlines in #include blocks.Emmanuel Gil Peyrot
This makes clang-format useful on those. Also add a bunch of forgotten transitive includes, which otherwise prevented compilation.
2016-09-18Manually tweak source formatting and then re-run clang-formatYuri Kunde Schlesner
2016-09-18Sources: Run clang-format on everything.Emmanuel Gil Peyrot
2016-06-05Kernel: Added ClientPort and ServerPort classes.Subv
This is part of an ongoing effort to implement support for multiple processes.
